What To Bring With Me

Patient Information

Your Appointment Made Easy

As with any medical examination, you may get asked to dress down to your underwear in certain circumstances. However, clinicians over the years become much better at feeling certain muscular issues through your clothes. If we were to ask you to dress down to your underwear, we will always leave the room while you do so, we will supply towels for your modesty and examine you in a position of which is much more discrete to suit your situation. The best thing to wear however, is baggy fitting clothes, large covering underwear (preferably not sports bras as these usually have lots of straps etc and they get in the way of the spine and neck line).

Things You Could Bring To Help With Your Diagnosis
To help us make a much more accurate and hollistic diagnosis, it is sometimes good to look at most things that can affect what is going on in your lifestyle and medical history:

1. Bring an old (ish) pair of your most used shoes. These give us an understanding of the wear pattern on the sole, therefore letting us look at what is going on with your gait and posture through the time of owning those shoes.

2. A picture of your work desk/station. So we can see what the repetative nature of your work is doing to your posture and repetitive movements of certain muscles. We can then decide upon if you can make changes to your work station.

3. Have a think about how you sleep, prior to you coming to your appointment, as how we sleep can have an effect on our body with regards to aches and pains.

4. Any x-rays, prescriptions or supplements that you take on a regular basis. We treat everything you say with confidence and so, telling us of all supplements or ergogenic aids you take to help you sleep or train is advisable.

5. Loose fitting clothes, underwear (Bridget Jones Pants for men and women to cover everything up) is essential and any braces or supports you wear regulary, so we can assess there integrity and whether they are fit for purpose.
